This blue box made of reinforced ABS and steel is for quickly transforming a standard chain handcuff into a rigid restraint. Therefore the handcuffs are placed inside and then the box is secured by padlock (neither padlock nor handcuffs are included). It can also be combined with a Peerless belly chain. The blue box additionally keeps the handcuff keyholes covered for top security. It fits to most modern standard handcuff models like Peerless model 300, 400, 500, 700, Smith and Wesson model 1, 100 or Hiatt 2010. For covering the keyholes of leg irons, two blue boxes are needed.

Model 700 is the current version of regular Peerless swing-thru handcuffs. They first came on the market in 1912 and since then have been constantly improved. The nickel-plated steel shackle is excellently finished and meets the NIJ standard (US National Institute of Justice). The minimum inner cuff circumference is 150 mm, the maximum 211 mm. Of course, the handcuffs can be securely double locked by using the key pin on a small bolt at the side of the cuffs. To unlock the double lock, the key has to be turned counter opening direction.

The special feature of these hinged handcuffs, made of nickel-plated steel, is their double joint, which corresponds to pieces of a bicycle chain.
